Brighter, Younger Skin This Season!

Get Brighter, Younger Skin this Season!

As the season begins to change from the summer warmth to a cooler fall, we make many adjustments, but one we often neglect is changes to our skin care regimen. During the summer months the skin is exposed the potentially harmful rays of the sun as well as all other environmental toxins and impurities. Generally, a basic skin care regimen includes the right cleanser, exfoliant, toner, moisturizer and sunscreen for your specific skin type. This cleanser cleans and removes impurities from the surface of the skin. An exfoliant buffs away dead skin and helps to remove any dull lifeless skin that is commonly leftover. A good toner helps to bring the skin back to its proper pH balance and closes the pores. To top off the regimen, use a moisturizer and sunscreen.

Visiting an Esthetician

The fall is a great time to visit a qualified, and certified, esthetician! Consulting an esthetician to review your skin care practices and the products you are using can be a rewarding experience. This visit will ensure that your skin care is up to date – nothing is expired. Make sure there are no contraindications with medications you may be taking, or product interactions. As the season changes, so does the needs of our skin. As the months get cooler, there is less moisture in the atmosphere and the skin gets drier. We may need a creamier cleanser, a heavier moisturizer or to layer a serum under our moisturizer.

Although it is important to get a facial once per month, there is only a small percentage of people who practice this on a regular basis. The end of the summer is the perfect time to be reminded of this very essential practice!

Call your esthetician and schedule a consultation. Discuss with her/him all the products you are using, get advice on ingredients, and find out what works for you. You should highlight any concerns, skin issues, and improvements you would like to make in your skin.

Perfect Treatments for Fall

Getting an exfoliation treatment would be your best bet this time of the year. This treatment will slough off all the dead skin and barrier built up over the last several months from sun exposure, dirt, grime and other environmental assault to the skin.

Call your esthetician, follow the recommendations and see how radiant and youthful your skin can become!
